MACHINE-LEARNING is beginning to shake up finance. A subset of artificial intelligence (AI) that excels at finding patterns and making predictions, it used to be the preserve of technology firms. The financial industry has jumped on the bandwagon. To cite just a few examples, “heads of machine-learning” can be found at PwC, a consultancy and auditing firm, at JP Morgan Chase, a large bank, and at Man GLG, a hedge-fund manager. It is with great sadness that the PBHFA learns of hedge fund pioneer E. Lee Hennessee-Gradante sudden passing at the age of 64.

She was found in her $1.6 million condo Saturday, but her identity was not immediately released by police.
“Lee touched us all in a way that will have a lasting positive impact on my life and the lives of so many others,” said Charles Gradante, her husband and business partner and fellow media pundit, in a statement.
