Tennessee-based investment manager Thomas F. Frist III and his wife, Julie, are the new owners of a Dutch Colonial-style house at 242 Tangier Ave., thanks to a sale recorded Wednesday at just under $8 million.

The Frists bought the five-bedroom house from its owner, Senie “Ann” Bloys, a real estate agent with The Fite Group. She and her ex-husband, David Bloys, had paid $4.18 million for it in 2011.

Thomas Frist III founded and serves as managing principal of Frist Capital, a Nashville-based private investment firm. His wife is a former employee of Goldman Sachs investment bank. The couple has a home in Nashville.

His billionaire father, Thomas Frist Jr., served as chairman ofHospital Corp. of America (HCA), the business he co-founded with his own father. With a family fortune estimated at $8 billion, Frist Jr. is ranked by Forbes as the wealthiest man in Tennessee. His brother is a former Republican U.S. senator from the same state. Frist III also is a director of HCA, the Frist Foundation and a general partner in Frisco Partners, a Frist family investment entity, according to the HCA website.

With 6,502 square feet of living space, inside and out, the midblock house on Tangier Avenue stands on a lot measuring a third of an acre, about a mile north of Royal Poinciana Way.
